Tips to avoid scratching your furniture

You are at your new home with the moving truck and you are just about to start unloading your furniture in the new place only to find out that you have scratched your favorite curio cabinet where you keep the family antiques. Chances are that you could have avoided this from happening, and here are some tips so you don’t make the same mistake again.

If you have pieces of furniture that you cherish, I would suggest that you wrap these pieces with moving stretch wrap, followed by wrapping a blanket around the unit during transportation in the truck. Both moving stretch wrap and moving blankets can be purchased at your local Uhaul. You should be able to get away with using moving blankets if it is a short distance move.

Avoid stacking wood on wood when loading the moving truck and if you do decide to stack wood on wood I would suggest a double layer moving blanket on the piece that you are stacking on. If you have any metal bed frames or furniture, make sure you have double layer moving blankets on the furniture surrounding these metallic pieces.
