Our moving company in Niagara offers long distance moving services anywhere within Ontario, Quebec & the East Coast of Canada.
When using a moving company to move your items within Ontario, Quebec or the east coast of Canada make sure they are CVOR and ELD compliant. Customers need a moving company they can trust to move their items across the province. We advise to do your research when hiring a long distance moving company to move you from province to province. Here are some criteria to look for when deciding who to choose.
Here are few questions to ask when looking for a long distance moving company
Does the moving company provide an exact day when movers will come to pack and transport your items? Is the company providing you with a delivery date?
The charge to move from province to province is based on a combination of weight and mileage. Ask your mover how they determined the cost of your relocation, because every company may do it in their own specific way.
A reliable moving company should be responsible for any damage that may occur during the relocation. Ask about the level of liability coverage offered. JR Moving Services can offer you a proof of insurance document upon request. We also differentiate from the rest by not charging our customers a deductible
Get informed about the payment options that the company provides, it may be cash, debit, credit or cheque. Also figure out deposit policies, in most cases they will be non refundable.
Is your moving company ELD compliant? The Ministry of Transportation requires all trucking companies that are transporting goods 160+KM away to log all driving hours using an electronic logging device. (ELD) Failure to do so will result in fines of $200-$20,000 and delays in your shipment. At JR Moving Services we are ELD compliant using the Cloudhawk ELD software system.
Is your moving company CVOR compliant? The CVOR system tracks the on-road safety performance of the following vehicles: Trucks that have a gross weight or registered gross weight over 4,500 kg. (9,920 lb) Chances are you are using a vehicle of this size, and if the moving company you choose is not CVOR compliant you will run into delays in your shipment. The Ministry Of Transportation can impose fines as high as $50,000, drivers licence suspension, jail time or all of the above. The CVOR points list is a long one. If you run into this scenario you won’t be getting your goods anytime soon. At JR Moving Services we are more than happy to provide you a proof of CVOR certificate upon request.

I just wanted to share my experience with JR Moving Service. I was provided the company through a mutual friend. I never wanted to use a moving company before but as I thought I would try it this time, and was the best choice I made. I contacted them and had a video call to go over what I wanted them to move and set expectations for them to have it packed organized and at the ready for when the team arrived. They called me about 90 mins before the scheduled time and showed up early which was great. I showed them the items and that I had completed everything promised on my side. They moved everything efficiently and professionally and I was extremely happy with JR Moving. I strongly recommend them as someone to have help you move. Thanks to them to move me from Oakville to Thorold.

Highly recommend JR Moving . We had an absolutely fantastic experience for my recent move from Ancaster to Ridgeway. The crew of staff arrived exactly on time and brought immense positive energy and humour to a stressful day. They wrapped all furniture with incredible care, loaded everything efficiently, and finished in astonishing time, faster than i had anticipated. The final bill perfectly matched the initial quote with zero surprise fees. Not only do I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an stress-free move. But we are hiring them again next year for our next move next year. Shout out to the fantastic crew!!

I call them The A-Team because you know that when you are planning to move, they will make that plan happen. You are assured they will show up, do the job and do it right. They did such a great job with our move in May 2026. Between delays getting into the new house and just the general stress of moving they were calm, efficient and conscientious. They were so careful with our things - and magicians at placing furniture in tight spots! I have already recommended them to friends in the area and will continue to do so!

We had the very best moving experience we’ve ever had, and we’ve moved a lot! Josh and his team were friendly, helpful and very gentle with all of our personal belongings. Josh was kind , friendly and a great leader for his team. They worked with so much speed and efficiency, we were finished at 3 o’clock. I didn’t even want to book movers, because I’ve had so many bad experiences but this time absolutely no regrets. Keep up the good work guys and thank you.
